Other Interests
Kittens who mysteriously appear in my life then require copious amounts of money to bring them back to health and return them to some level of wholeness, especially my three legged cat, Bucky and my one eyed cat, Frankenkitty. I am keenly interested in people who have lives that color outside the lines, demonstrate the courage to speak truth to power and those kindred souls that find laughter to be an essential component of daily life on this nutty planet. Other interests are varied and complex.

About Me
I am a fun loving mischief maker who likes tilting at windmills (corporate power and its chokehold on our gov't). In transition between jobs with my new job starting on May 1, 2008. So I thought I would take the time off between the old job and the new job to eat right and get some exercise.

I started working out on March 3, 2008 and eating healthy on March 14, 2008. As of March 22, I've lost 7 pounds. It's a start. I feel better and have more energy now plus am sleeping better at night. The hardest part is being patient with the scale. I get up every morning and step on it expecting big changes in weigth to go along with the big changes in diet and exercise. My brain knows that it takes time to lose the weight but I guess my heart thinks that if you work hard and stick to eating healthy you ought to get rewarded by seeing the pounds fly off.
I know I'm converting fat too muscle, now that I started aerobic exercise and weight training again. Since muscle weighs more, the weight loss will slow down soon and I may even gain weight. I'm trying to prepare myself for that now, so I won't be disappinted. But it is tough to shake the expectation of daily weight loss. Maybe I need to ask my parnter to hide the scale and only let me have it once a week. Lol, that way perhaps I can kick the addiction of stepping on the scale everyday to see the benefits of eating right and exercising. I probably need to find a diferent way to quantitatively measure daily success and results from eating right and daily exercise.
