About Me

I'm coming up on my wedding day at the end of 2008. I used to be quite fit, but gained quite a bit of weight since recovering from a couple different sports injuries. I never quite got back on track, and my weight has just spiralled out of control.

I have a sweet tooth and no self-restraint when I give in to the cravings. I'm also a stress-eater, which doesn't help when I am a graduate student planning a wedding with a fiance who is currently living on the opposite US coast. We've been living apart for over a year now, but the stress of the distance hasn't let up at all.

I'm hoping that joining a community like this will help to motivate me to stick to my resolutions and reach my goals!

congrats on the 18 lbs!!! I just got the message you left me in the beginning of October (haha at the beginning of November) and I wanted to say thanks for all the kind words. I have actually started precooking my meals too, it seems to help me alot. I didn't know that bacon and eggs would help so much. I usually eat cereal or toast for breakfast, but I could see how that would keep you full for longer. Great idea! Well, I'm hoping now that midterms are out of the way and I have some of my confidence back (all A's in midterms woohoo) that I should have a much easier time with eating better and getting some more exercise. :) Have a great November!!!

How's the wedding planning going??? I couldn't handle the big wedding thing! Way too stressful! We had a small 25 person wedding and my mom did most of the planning (I just picked out my dress and the photographer!) I bet you will be beautiful! You better post a wedding picture! I had horrible previous two weeks! Then I binged all the weekend before! Took me all week to get back on track! But am starting to get focused again! My cousin amanda mullen is in the top four with us so it helps to have a family member to "beat" in some friendly family competition! But she is doing that p90x thing and she is losing pretty rapidly! she'll probably pass us all soon Dang it! Anyway, good luck this week!

Hi, I am a stress eater and have a sweet tooth (a whole mouthful) too. Makes weight loss tricky when life just won't calm down! :)

Wahoo, did you end up running the trail on both sides or something? Sounds very much like 5.3*2 ... and awfully close to that half-marathon you only recently complained would be too far. Sounds like your running spirit is strong!

Wow, awesome! You have a good streak going now! New shoes soon are around the next bend :).

Thank you thank you. Yeah, that 20lb mark was giving me some trouble there but I got through. I think it was stressing over busting through it that was hurtin me the most. A weekend of less focus to celebrate winning my competition and back to weight loss for me. Grats on hitting that almost 11 lb mark. You're in third place and chuggin along. Keep it up. :)

Hey. Happy monday to you too. :( Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances, I have to move again, so it might be a while before I get to go to the gym again. Bah.
