I've heard amazing things about Nike Women's so I'm really excited. It's also pretty hard to get in if you arent fundraising with Team in Training so I'm happy to be a part of it. I have signed up to be a mentor for TNT next season, and I will be running the half at Country Music in Nashville. Some of my teammates want to run the full at Chicago next Oct so I'm tempted to see if I can make the distance.

Hi there,

I noticed that you're doing some runs that are not too far from me. I just moved to Northern Virginia this past summer. How long have you been running?

i go through all 4 bottles as well. i am planing on using them only when there is no water stops so i can conserve. my half marathon is in San Francisco for the Nike Women's. Which one are you doing and where? I am thinking of doing Nashville's Music City in the spring and then maybe Chicago next Oct.

I am training with Team in Training and the coaches are awesome. They really help with all our questions. In the morning before a long run, I like to eat an english muffin/ toast with some peanut butter. It's small enough to not upset my tummy but still gives me energy. During the runs I like to carry sharkies (which are like to luna moons and very good) the jelly belly beans, or Power Bar gels. I found that the Clif Shots make me sick bc they are so thick. But I just went to REI and bought a ton of everything to see what works best. I would definately recommend gels or gatorade on long runs over 8 miles. Last week I had to take 2 gels to get me through the 10 miles. Also I bought a fuel belt and it is awesome. It does take some time to get use to, but I hate carrying water in my hand and the belt works great. I tend to have a lot of weight in my middle too that just wont go away. I am eating healthy but I tend to snack so much more after my runs. I just get so hungry. I can't wait for my race, it's so exciting. I do wish I had done a few more pre-races during training like you are. I bet it will help a ton on race day.
