Main Goal

My goal remains pretty much the same as it's been. I'm going to stop looking at the mountain in front of me and put on foot in front of the other. What improvements and positive steps can I make in my life TODAY. I'm not going to worry about the 60 lbs I want to lose, I'm going to focus on the 1 or 2 I'd like to lose week to week. I'm also going to forgive myself and give myself positive affirmations everyday realizing I deserve better than I've been giving myself these past many years. I've met some fantastic people who want nothing more than to support me. I'm going to accept their support and encouragement... thank you all!

2009 Add: I know I need to do this for me but I also want to do it for my boys. I want them to see their mama work hard for something. I want them to be proud of me.

Previous Diets

You name it, I've probably bought it. However, much to my dismay, just buying things doesn't magically make the weight fall off. I've done Weight Watchers, which actually worked when i stuck to it but I'm not good at writing everything down; Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution; YOU: On A Diet (honestly, neither book I finished); Biggest Loser Club online, etc. I need to realize that buying the book or joining the club does not automatically make the weight come off. Action is a must.

Favorite Workouts

Treadmill, Exercise Ball, Biggest Loser DVDs and Jumping on the Trampoline with my son. I'm going to try the Exercise Bands too, for strengthening.

Things To Do Before I Die

See my children grow up and be successful; Have grandchildren and watch them grow; Retire comfortably and travel with my husband; Take our family on a cross-country trip in a giant motorhome to see our great nation and all it has to offer. Be healthy and enjoy my life, my family, live life to the fullest and without regret.

Favorite Activities

Playing with the kids; Walking on my treadmill and watching TV (I'm a TV junkie); Scrapbooking (when I have the time); Just hanging out with family and friends.

Favorite Music

I like all kinds. Country, Classic Rock, Oldies, Jazz, Classical, Pop. Almost anything... almost.

Favorite Movies

The Godfather Trilogy; My Big Fat Greek Wedding; It's A Wonderful Life; Christmas Vacation, pretty much any Christmas movie... love the feeling of unconditional hopefullness they inspire.

Favorite TV Shows

The Sopranos; Biggest Loser; Project Runway; How Clean is Your House?; You Are What You Eat; Clean House; Joyce Meyer & Joel Osteen ministries; MASH reruns; I could go on and on... like I said, I'm a TV junkie.

Favorite Books

Confessions of a Carb Queen; Your Best Life Now; Into Thin Air

Other Interests

I wish I had more time to read. The older I get the more into it I am. I love helping and encouraging others. I'm also a huge animal lover. I have 3 cats and help rescues and local shelters whenever I can. Most recently with my boys getting older and my oldest in Kindergarten, I want to get more involved in school activities.

About Me

I'm updating my "About Me" for 2009 as a lot has happened in the last year. The biggest accomplishment being the birth of our 3rd (and final) son. He's perfect. They are all 3 perfect. But I write "final" for a specific reason. My husband and I agree that this is our last baby and we're comfortable with that decision. That also means that I can not use "a future baby" as any kind of reason or excuse not to get weight off and a healthier body. There can be no more excuses and that's the focus for 2009!

Really?? You named your new son Sam? You and your husband settled on the best name eva!!! Lol! He’s one lucky boy :) That book your reading...is it about eating too many carbs or not enough? I’ve had the book, Carbohydrate Addict, for some time now and I love it. The guidelines are so easy to follow and even now I still eat somewhat like it says too. Once I got started with eating salad and veg rather than loading my plate with complex carbs it just stuck because I felt so good I guess. Still, my biggest downfall is probably meat. I just love the stuff!

You sound so refreshed and happy and motivated! I’ve got a great feeling about this year...let’s make our birthdays ones to remember!!

Hi!! I’m so happy for you! I’ve missed you around here and I’ve been popping in on your profile a lot over the last few weeks hoping for some news...a new baby boy, how wonderful! Congratulations!!

As for me, I’ve been off track in a BIG way for about six months. Gained back almost 30lbs while I was at it too, but I’m back up and moving in the right direction and I already feel so much better. I seriously need to figure out how to maintain my loses because this up and down thing is just ridiculous, so for the very first time I went and worked out some weight-loss goals. I turn the big, four zero, next year and I’m hoping I can reach my goal weight and maintain it up until then.

I’m sure you’ll be back in the game in no time! I went and cleaned up my profile not too long ago too and it really did give me a fresh new perspective which surprised me. I was hoping it would :)

On my "Journal" see The Four Lessons Of Life. I receive these motivational thoughts occasionally that are pretty cool and worth sharing. It seems that can be applied to many things in life i.e. weight loss. Wishing you success on your WL goals! ~bobi~
