About Me
I'm married and have baby boy who will be 1 in August. I'm an ex marine who has fallen out of shape in the last 4 or so years. In April, I had some blood work done and the results were frightening. My cholesterol was through the roof, my sugar was borderline diabetic (and I'm only 29) and my liver enzymes were very elevated. So I decided I'd been lazy long enough. I looked at my son and knew I had to do something. I've cut out almost all carbohydrates except for whole grains. I eat fish and lean meats and vegetables. I've finally gotten my butt in gear and am exercising 5-6 days a week. This is for the long haul. In June, after losing about 25-30 lbs, I had my blood work taken again and good news! My sugar was normal, my cholesterol was normal, and my liver enzymes are almost normal. I'm due to get my bloodwork again in August and I expect a good report.

Damn - I guess I better pick up the pace! Amazing what you are capable of doing, it motivates me every day. Just had a bad week last week with some personal stuff and gonna try and work through that and get back to it this week to knock you back out of first place! :-)

Congrats on hitting 60 lbs - that's awesome! I took a couple days off exercising since I really hit it hard to win that private competition that ended this past week - good news - we got our $80 back and all the other $160 so it was worth it! Only lost one more pound, but that wasn't bad for just watching diet and having two formal events to attend.
Keep up the great work!

Baby, so proud you finally got back on track! I'm sorry, but I'm grateful for the little plateau you had because it gave me a little time to get back in gear so that you didn't pass me up!! I know I've got to keep at it now because I can see you are back on fire and will be dropping these final thirty pounds

Thanks for comment. Trying to keep workouts varied - mix of running on treadmill, walking, spinning class, weight training and core work. I haven't really had a set regimen - more whatever I feel like at the time. Need to get more disciplined with one day upper body, one day lower body, and a structure to the cardio but what I've been doing seems to be working with watching the food intake. You're doing amazing - 58 lbs is awesome. Any secrets?

Wow - you're doing an amazing job! I'll need to work a lot harder if I want to even think about catching up to you in the Christmas Competition!

I TOLD you that the vacation gain was mostly water weight! There was no way you could have excercised the way you did and gained real fat! And now you are catching up to me. I feel disgusting and I can't get back on program!! I love you though :(
